Davidson Plum Tree Fruit

Davidson Plum

Australian Davidson Plums

NATIF Davidson Plum is organically grown.  Davidson Plums grow in tropical north-east Queensland and northern NSW.

The dark blue/purple fruit has a rich reddish-pink soft juicy pulp with an aroma that is earthy, like beetroot (D.jerseyana variety) and stewed rhubarb (D. prurient variety) with a tart, sour taste.  It is low in sugar and can be used in jam, sauces, juices, smoothies and raw food cakes or baking.  Early settlers and Indigenous people used the fruit.

Davidson Plums contain high levels of antioxidants (anthocyanins - in the natural pigments) compared to other health promoting fruits and vegetables, and contain vitamin E, lutein (good for eye health), folate, zinc, magnesium, potassium and calcium.  This means that you only need a smaller amount compared to other healthy fruits like blueberry.

Antioxidants are beneficial for good health and for preventing common diseases like Alzheimer's, autoimmune and cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes.
