Lillipilli are another Australian native superfood, dense and rich in nutrients.  

They were eaten by Indigenous people, mainly on the East Coast of Australia as a sweet treat and a valuable source of nutrients.

Lillypilli's contain antioxidants as well as vitamins A, C, E and folate all needed for good health.

When fresh off the tree, they have a fresh apple-like taste, spongy refreshing pulp and fragrant with a little tartness.  The variety of colours produce variances in flavour, some better than others.  I prefer the magenta coloured ones, with more fruit pulp than seed.  They are all edible.

Use them in jams, sauces, smoothies, juices, breakfast bowls, salads or anything else for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
