Why use Superfoods?
Superfoods are nutrient dense foods. They are usually fresh or dried powders. They contain more nutrients than other common known foods.
We isolate them as 'superfoods' because they are the 'Stars' of all known foods.
If we are deficient in a certain vitamins or minerals, we can take supplements to temporarily raise our bodies levels of that nutrient until we can sufficiently incorporate a food with that vitamin or mineral into our diet effectively.
You can think of Superfoods a bit like a natural vitamin pill for people to maintain good levels of a specific nutrient or nutrients.
Most RDI 's (recommended daily intake) are the recommended lowest amounts of that particular nutrient to prevent illness. We usually use an UL (upper limit) to treat deficiencies or illness.
Incorporating 'Superfoods' into our diet provides us with optimum levels of particular nutrients from fruits, plants or vegetables.
Just like anything, you wouldn't over dose on a particular superfood to get more of it but rather eat a nutrient rich, whole foods, well balanced diet, including superfoods to help maintain optimal nutrients for health and wellbeing.
If you are ill or clinically deficient in certain nutrients you must see a qualified medical practitioner (Nutritionist or Dietitian) who can treat you as an individual for your own specific needs.
NATIF Superfoods (Kakadu Plum, Davidson Plum and Desert Lime) are all Australian native dried fruit powders with no additives at all. Always use recommended serving sizes and use as part of a healthy balanced diet. Eat/mix them with food or drink.
