Muntrie Fruit

(Kunzea pomifera)  Common name is Emu Apples

Available in freeze dried Fruit and Powder

Taste and texture is like apples and pear but also pleasantly unique in their flavour.

Muntries are native to southern parts of Australia and Western Victoria.

They have 2 and a half times more antioxidants of blueberries.

They were a major food source for Indigenous people in this area who ate them fresh and dried them for later use and also traded them.
Muntries can be eaten fresh and dried and added to desserts, savoury and fruit salads and baking.

The Muntrie powder can be used in smoothies, juices and other cold beverages.  Sprinkle some Muntrie powder onto your breakfast bowl, onto yoghurt and ice-cream

  • Our freeze dried Muntries can be used as an alternative to sultanas
  • You can re-hydrate them by adding them to warm water for a few minutes
  • They have an incredible perfume similar to Juniper berries and spicy apples
  • A similar texture to apples or pears, not sour but mildly sweet.

Muntries are a delicious special superfood. NATIF freeze dried whole Muntries are very light in weight and contain almost 100% of their nutritional value and 100% of the products fibre without the moisture content. Feel free to rehydrate them by soaking them in water. I love them just the way they are or mixed into a nut mix. Muntries are a good source of vitamin E, calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc. Muntries are also a good source of vitamin C and have a greater antioxidant capacity than blueberries.
